Welcome — and thank you for your interest in the Ethical Culture Fieldston School.

When I came to ECFS as a student on full financial aid, I didn’t know what to expect. Even though I lived in the same borough, where I came from in the South Bronx felt like a world away.

What I found when I arrived at school were classmates who quickly became a community. I found faculty who expected me to stretch and grow and who supported me every step of the way. I found a learning environment that valued a well-thought-out question as much as the “correct” answer. I found people who faced challenges and solved problems in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, and in their communities every day: a school that strove to ignite my moral as well as my creative imagination.

ECFS is a dynamic and inspiring place — a place that gave me so much, and one that I truly love. It may not be the place for everyone, but for those for whom it does resonate, it is truly the experience of a lifetime. I hope what you see as you explore our website gives you some real insight into why this place is so special to me and to generations of other Fieldston alumni.
